Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Quina! It was spacious, very clean and beautiful, very suitable for both small and larger groups. It is extremely private and situated centrally for exploring the Algarve. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and there are numerous seating areas to enjoy the views. The villa faces south, overlooking an expansive orange grove. The pool is inviting and probably the best we have ever experienced. It measures approximately 45’ x 24’ and is between 3’ and 7’ deep, a very spacious pool for swimming. The pool deck is nice, with plenty of seating and umbrellas available. We spent a lot of time in the pool! There is also a covered area outside with seating for both eating and enjoyment, along with an outdoor grill for cooking. The house is well outfitted and the bedrooms upstairs are air conditioned so sleeping was very comfortable. Communication with our hosts, Alex and Richard, before, during and afterwards was excellent. In fact, this was our first experience in a rental property where we were treated to a mid stay cleaning, nice touch. The owners clearly take pride in their property. You will need a car when staying at this property but that shouldn’t be a surprise. There are several towns within 10 – 30 minutes drive from the villa, making it easy to explore the Algarve. Highly recommend!

A lovely place to relax!

My family and I were happy with our stay in Villa Quina. The hosts are very friendly and the response were always very quick. (The crew, housekeeper, gardener, pool attendent were also kind and did a very good job! THX.) You have a great view to the golf resort on the opposite. Especially when the sun goes down. Amazing!!! We were a group of 4 golfers. The villa was situated in a very quiet area away from busy urban area but was conveniently close to good courses. Also known nly a shortish taxi ride to Silves for a night out. The property was in great nick with excellent facilities. We particularly liked the covered BBQ area. Highly recommend this villa.

We spent three wonderful days, and wished were more. The villa is located a bit “far from the madding crowd”, and was perfect for our group of 8 adults. The pool was our escape from the torrid air (about 38 Celsius degrees) as we could not swim in the cold, cold, very cold ocean.

The kitchen is very well equipped, and the property photos reflect 100% the reality.

What an Experience

Villa Quina – what an experience for our first trip to Faro. Incredible location and facilities and top of that an incredible host. We thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and the pool was incredible with right temperature to enjoy the start of summer, as it felt like. Lot to do around the location from tending to golf. Nous avons passé une très belle semaine dans la villa Quina! On s’y sent comme à la maison! À notre arrivée, la maison était parfaitement propre, il ne manquait de rien. Les lits sont confortables. Nous avons pu profiter de la cuisine pour se faire à manger puisqu’elle est très bien fournie. Le terrain est grand et très privé, on voit très peu les voisins. Malheureusement, il faisait trop froid durant notre séjour pour utiliser la piscine. Il faut définitivement une voiture pour s’y rendre et visiter les alentours puisqu’il n’y a pas grand chose à moins de 15 minutes de route. On a beaucoup apprécié, merci beaucoup à Alex pour l’accueil!

Villa Quina 5*

Our family spent July 23 to 30 at Villa Quina. A perfect home from home in the Algarve – clean, tidy, spacious and lots of space for the children to run around outside. The pool was amazing with pool games and inflatables the kids to enjoy. Outside dining areas are spacious with a great barbecue that we used on two nights. Conveniently located near the town of Silves. Great cafes and restaurants an be found here. The walk up to the castle is a must for the views. Beaches nearby are amazing, with lots of choice. If you want to go further afield, you will need a car. Lots to enjoy if you don’t mind driving (never any longer than 45 mins). Can’t fault our stay, would love to return soon. Villa Quina in July

We (2 families) visited Villa Quina in July and had a wonderful week. The villa and grounds were absolutely spotless and in very good condition. The kitchen was particularly well stocked which was very useful when cooking for 9. We enjoyed lots of barbecues in the beautiful covered area. All the rooms have their own bathroom which wasn’t exactly necessary for us but brilliant for couples sharing. Communication from the owner was very good. We hope to return in future!

I would highly recommend Villa Quina for a relaxing holiday for large families or a small group. We stayed in the last week of July with our three (hard to please) teenagers and all of us had a fantastic time. Communication throughout the booking process and pre arrival was excellent.

The villa itself was very comfortable and immaculately clean with everything you could need provided. It was lovely to arrive to find a welcome pack of essentials in the fridge too. The wi-fi was great in the living areas of the villa which was great for keeping the kids happy. Externally the large pool beautiful gardens, barbeque and gazebo with it’s fantastic views were all faultless. We could happily have spent our full week relaxing at the villa without venturing out to explore the impressive local area.

A hire car is essential but there are so many fantastic beaches and places to explore within 20-30 mins drive that you really wouldn’t need to venture any further than this. There are numerous waterparks, boat trips etc within easy reach of the villa and a good variety of traditional towns and villages as well as more resort style places on the coast.

All in all a fantastic place that we intend to return to however we will learn from our mistake and book for longer next time.

Lovely villa with everything you need. Nice surprise of a welcome pack on arrival. My only slight criticism – and this is personal preference – the plants need cutting right back. There are beautiful views that can only be seen from the master bedroom. Views from the terrace, pagoda and ground floor front bedroom are obscured by the overgrown foliage. It is such a shame as it is in a truly wonderful location. The foliage needs cutting back around the pool as this would prevent the constant clearing of leaves from the pool. We were a party of seven adults and two children (6y, and 22mths). We were so looking forward to staying at Villa Quina: we were not disappointed. The descriptions for location, layout and facilities were spot on. It was very well equipped, with lots of room for everyone to find chill out areas. The beds were comfortable and everyone was happy with the cleanliness. We enjoyed the pool immensely, being a good size for swimming lengths. We had an evening barbecue under the pagoda which was sheltered and quite magical. The views across the orange groves were beautiful and the evening scents of the vegetation delightful.

Inacia, the housekeeper, was friendly and lovely to talk to. She quietly got on with her work and kept the villa in tip top order.

We had several excursions to explore the local area, visiting Silves Castle, Albufeira town, beach and marina, Praia de Marinha hill top walk and beach, and the board walk. The Villa is well placed for getting supplies. We shopped at Guia, Silves, Alcantarilha and Albufeira enjoying local wines, beers, fruits, olives, artisan breads, fish and meats.

All in all we had a lovely time, confident that should there have been any problems, the Villa Quina team would have sorted things out for us. We had no problems and feel that everyone behind the scenes have created a real home from home with good instructions on what to expect and what was expected from us. We sincerely hope we can visit again and would happily recommend the property to friends.

We spent 6 weeks in Villa Susana from early January and loved every moment – so much so, that we’ve booked again for the same time next yearThe house has literally everything you’d need including an electric juicer so that you can have freshly squeezed juice from the oranges sold on the roadsideAlex & Richard are perfect hosts and not only arranged for the wifi to be fixed but even upgraded to fibre broadband, so the WiFi now is spot on.

They never intruded on our privacy but were always a message away if we needed anythingThe house is perfectly located 5 mins from an excellent supermarket in Messines and roughly 30 mins to most locations and only an hour to some superb beaches on the west coast. It isn’t overlooked and is lovely and peaceful, with gorgeous views over the valley to the coast. Not for anyone who wants to be within walking distance of bars and restaurants but perfect to escape the worst of the British winter, surrounded by lemon and orange groves in peace & quiet.Missing it already and looking forward to next year

Lovely family home in a perfect rural setting

We were only here for a short stay of 4 days but we got beautiful weather and were able to make the most of the gorgeous outdoor setting. Stunning views and so peaceful. We wanted to rest and recharge and were able to do that so easily. The villa itself is very spacious with 3 large bathrooms and air con in each bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and the Intermarche in SB Messines which is about a 10 min drive away has everything you need. Alex offers a comprehensive folder of information available online before you arrive. Every detail and question is covered. We felt very looked after and tried the restaurants she recommended which were fab. We would return without hesitation

Séjour merveilleux!

2 semaines à la Villa Suzana de bonheur ! Une vue à couper le souffle ! La piscine est immense et sécurisée avec un portillon ce qui permets aux plus petits de ne pas pouvoir y aller tous seuls donc point très positif. Villa conforme aux photos, très propre et très fonctionnelle. Un grand merci à Alex (hôte) pour votre communication qui est très rapide et très réactive. Villa très bien située car à proximité de toutes les plages de l’Algarve (30 minutes) A 5 min se trouve la Ville de Sao Bartolomeu de Messines, avec un intermarché pour les courses. Le restaurant Joao la bas est très bon avec une cuisine typique. A faire : Restaurant Jardim rustico à Albufeira : excellent ! La ville de Silves est à 15 min, très belle ville (Café Da Rosa sur la place est merveilleux) Nous avons hâte de retourner dans cette villa!

2 weeks at Villa Suzana of happiness! A breathtaking view ! The swimming pool is huge and secure with a gate which allows the little ones not to be able to go there on their own, so a very positive point. Villa according to the photos, very clean and very functional. A big thank you to Alex (host) for your communication which is very fast and very responsive. Villa very well located because close to all the beaches of the Algarve (30 minutes) 5 minutes is the City of Sao Bartolomeu de Messines, with an intermarket for shopping. The Joao restaurant there is very good with typical cuisine. To do: Restaurant Jardim rustico in Albufeira: excellent! The town of Silves is 15 min away, very beautiful town (Café Da Rosa in the square is wonderful) We can’t wait to return to this villa!

The perfect country getaway in Algarve

We were looking for a country house in the northern part of Algarve away from the touristy areas and found Villa Susana to fit all our needs. The location, the layout of the house and the overall decor were perfect. The pool and the amazing view made being outside so enjoyable we never wanted to leave! The Villa is well equipped. The pool and terrace with its stunning views are gorgeous and – very important! – the beds are great!!
Some remarks in response to prior reviews:
– The Villa is close to N124. Don’t worry, you can’t hear any traffic
– The road to the villa is now on asphalt. You can drive it with every car
– Although it’s a rural area the internet connection is fast enough to stream video. Wifi is limited to the villa and doesn’t connect you on the pool (should it, seriously?).

We had a lovely time staying at Villa Susana. It’s in such a peaceful spot with gorgeous views as far as the eye can see. The garden is full of aromatic herbs, trees and flowers, and makes you feel somehow at home. The villa itself is really spacious and comfortable and the pool is wonderful. We had a great time exploring the towns to the east as far as Olhao and Tavira as well as all the beaches nearby including the beautiful Praia Do Camilo. The villa is ideally situated so as to be half an hour from the best beaches, and an hour or so in every direction to explore the rest of the Algarve. We look forward to coming back in the near future

We had wonderful 2 weeks in this really comfortable house. Plenty of space, very private, beautiful views over the countryside, amazing sunrise & sunset. House, pool & garden very well maintained, kitchen equipment almost perfect. Villa Susana is a perfect starting point to discover the whole algarve – don’t miss to visit Silves, Portimao, Lagos, Tavira, Olhao, Sagres, the Westcoast with the wonderful beaches and much more. Even some beautiful places in Baixo Alentejo are reachable in a hour or so – e.g. Mertola. Alex and Richard were great hosts and it was a pleasure to meet them. Thanks for the help and support in a difficult situation 🙂 We definitely want to come back!

Nous avons passe un excellent sejour a Villa Susana. Nous etions 2 adultes et 3 enfants et nous sommes restes 2 semaines dans cette magnifique villa. La maison est spacieuse, tres agreable a vivre et la cuisine est incroyablement bien equipee. La piscine est magnifique, avec une superbe vue, et le coin barbecue est tres agreable pour tous les repas. Les instructions sont tres claires et Alex nous a toujours repondu tres rapidement. Nous recommandons ce petit coin de paradis!

Beautiful Countryside Villa

Our family of 6 adults stayed at Villa Susana the last week of September and we had a wonderful vacation! The villa is as beautiful as the photos portray. It was very clean, spacious, well maintained and had everything you could want in a home away from home. The pool was a great size, very clean and was enjoyed by all after a long day of sightseeing. The lovely grounds, the gorgeous view and the quiet countryside made for a spectacular stay! We enjoyed many meals on the terrace and having the barbecue was an added bonus. Special thanks Alex for the welcoming gift of cheese, milk, bread etc.. as it was much appreciated after a long day of travel from Canada The town of Silves was just 15 minutes away and had everything we needed. The location was great for travelling to the beaches and towns of the Algarve . We enjoyed a delightful evening and a wonderful meal at Restaurante O Guerreiro located just a minute down the street from the villa. The salmon was delicious! For a special evening on an outdoor patio under a canopy of trees and white lights Restaurante O Barradas in Silves was fantastic. Thanks Alex and family for sharing your beautiful countryside villa with our family! We will certainly recommend it to any family and friends travelling to Portugal.

Wundervoller Aufenthalt

Tolle Zeit in einer sehr schönen Villa. Von der Buchung bis zur Abreise hat alles bestens geklappt. Das Haus, der Garten, der Pool , alles äußerst sauber und es gab keinerlei Beanstandungen. Das Haus ist sehr gut ausges️tattet, es fehlt an nichts. Der Kontakt zur Eigentümerin, Housesitterin, Reinigungskraft, Gärtner, Pool Boy, war ausnahmslos sehr freundlich. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit, die Vila Susana ist sehr empfehlenswert…..leider war sie für das nächste Jahr für unsere Reisezeit schon ausgebucht.

Great time in a very beautiful villa. Everything worked out well from booking to departure. The House, the garden, the pool, everything extremely clean and there were no complaints. The house is very good ️ did, there is nothing missing. The contact with the owner, house cleaner, gardener, pool guy, was very friendly. We had a great time, the vila susana is highly recommended….. Unfortunately, it was already fully booked for the next year for our travel time

This was our 3rd year staying at Villa Susana … It was and is the perfect retreat for my wife and I. To be welcomed with even the simplest of notes & a grocery pack from the owner is something not to be underestimated. This visit was just as perfect as the first … Breathtaking views … A cool clean pool to dip into out of the heat … Having a car makes things easier as there are so many stunning places to visit … Monchique, Salema & Cape St. Vincent are just a couple of the places we viewed.
Alex and her family make this the perfect home from home experience … My wife and I are looking forward to returning again …

Another fantastic stay at Villa Susana

Another fantastic stay at Villa Susana. This year we went to recharge our batteries, and this we certainly did. The pool was used several times a day and was very welcoming. Walk around the grounds was quiet and peaceful. Morning Hare’s were occasionally spotted.

The villa is more than well equipped to make your stay comfortable and relaxed. BBQ in the evenings whilst watching the sun go down. Spectacular morning sun rises. Close enough to all amenities and beaches. Some great places to eat both locally and further afield.

The villa was everything we expected as per the description. Being a family owned property it’s the little extras that make all the difference – Quality Towels, welcome pack, tea, coffee and spices, air fresheners, dishwater tablets etc for guest use and easy contact with the owner if needing any local advise on restaurants etc. We have been in many villas over the years during early May and we normally find that nothing is left in the villa as there has been no previous guests so you literally have to supply everything – so all the supplied items was a very welcome change. The villa is set in a very large plot with plenty of local walks if feeling energetic. If eating out you had to drive approximately 30 mins to good local restaurants but we did not find that too much of a problem. The villa is very well furnished with quality fittings and comfy beds for a change. Although we were a party of 4 adults the villa is ideal for a family group as the kitchen. lounge and dining area is one big super open area. Overall excellent

Beautiful Villa in a secluded location

Three Generations of our Family had a perfect holiday in this spacious villa . Our party consisted of Two Grandparents ,Two parents and Two grandchildren . One of whom was a 5 month old baby . We spent hours sitting around the gorgeous pool and had Dinner outside in the BBQ area most evenings .We dined on fresh fish and meat bought within a ten minute car journey most evenings although visited an amazing restaurant just five minutes away one evening. Every bedroom has a private balcony. We will be re booking for next year to take other members of the family with us

A wonderful villa with breath taking views!

A real “home away from home”, equipped with everything you could need (and almost everything that we could think of to test the owners!). A stunning location, matching an immaculate villa and an ideal place for a large family get-together. From initial booking to the end of our holiday, communication has been faultless and our stay has exceeded our expectations. We were visited by all 3 cats and the goldie…all of whom our 2 year old hated but we loved! Caution – DO NOT LEAVE FOOD UNATTENDED BY THE BBQ…we caught one naughty kitty eating an uncooked burger! We enjoyed visits to Albufeira, the old town being particularly pleasant, Armaçao de Pera, Krazy World and Zoomarine (these were perfect for our toddler and very easy to take a baby around too). Recommend the Comboio Turistico train with young children also. Would love to stay again

We arrived at Faro Airport on 15th April 2017, a gloriously sunny and warm day. After collecting the car we had hired at the airport, we drove approximately 40 km to find Villa Quina. What a delightful surprise. The villa was fantastic; all you could want and more. Every necessity catered for. A fabulous setting overlooking orange groves and within easy driving distance of Algoz in one direction and Silvez in the other. The beautiful beaches and town of Lagos with its wonderful marina are about a 40 minute drive away and easy to find. We cannot recommend Villa Quina and Portugal enough. We will definitely be returning!!!

Everything we needed for a fantastic first holiday with our 7 month old daughter. You have set the bar high! This was our 5th visit to the Algarve and have stayed in many different properties but non compare with this beautiful villa. The location is quite remote and you would definitely need a car to get around, but if your looking for a place to stay that will offer you complete peace and quiet then this is the place to stay. We found the villa to have everything we needed for our 2 weeks family holiday and enjoyed many lazy days around the pool. The nearest town (Silves) was a 10 minute drive away with a couple of good supermarkets, many restaurants/cafes and the most fantastic Castle in the centre which is well worth a visit

Villa is a Home from Home

The villa is well spread out with lots of space all of which spotless and extremely well equipped. It is well looked after by the housekeeper who comes discretely does her bit and is gone without disturbing anyone.

The communication from the time of booking even down to a courtesy e-mail on our second day was brilliant. always got a rapid response to any of the e-mails I sent about different inquiries. No one person had a complaint about the villa apart from 1!!! We had to leave!!!! Would highly recommend this villa if anyone is thinking of Portugal

Beautiful holiday home in idyllic location

We arrived at Villa Quina on Thursday 23rd April, this was a 70th birthday holiday for my mums partner and we had the last week of the comings and goings of family members.

The villa is in a secluded area, very rural and pretty much surrounded by greenery, (a car is a must) there is a lovely garden with lemons growing on the driveway, your own pool, a covered barbecue area and an adorable three legged cat who visits every now and again ( I wanted to take him/her home! )

The Villa itself has been designed extremely well, four large (3 twin, 1 double) bedrooms all en-suite, all with balconies, a large and well furnished living area plus a TV room and a good sized dining table, extremely well equipped kitchen with everything anyone could want.

Everywhere is spotlessly clean and tidy and there has been no expense spared in the furnishing or appliances.

We all had a really good holiday and I’d love to stay at Villa Quina again, highly recommended

Delightful house. Large bedrooms, nice beds. Spacious and complete bathrooms and quiet powerful air conditioning in 2 bedrooms. Spacious kitchen with large fridge and all amenities to comfortably live. Lounge room also very spacious with nice sofas, although we usually sat on the terrace or the swimming pool. Lovely sunbeds by the pool. Pool spacious. No shallow part for small children. The location: View from the terrace is fantastic. Situated on a slope, the house offers a beautiful view from the terrace over the wide area. Beautiful green landscape of the Algarve with many citrus plantations. Lots of privacy. No adjacent houses. No house in the wide area with view of this house. Accessibility: A car is necessary. In the immediate area a lot of choice from local Portuguese restaurants with very good value for money. Nearest supermarket 10 minutes by car. Sufficient choice for all you need for your stay. By good roads, you’ll be within half an hour in Albufeira center, or beach. Also been to the west coast of Portugal. Hour by car to surfers beach with nice high waves. We can only recommend this house

A lovely secluded, homely and well equipped Villa with excellent roof terrace, pool and living accommodation. The villa was always cool whilst outside it was up to 30 degrees. It was so nice that we chose to spent half of our week staying at the villa relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views. Excellent advice on local attractions all within approx 30 minutes, everything you need to buy is available locally as long as you have a hire car

After a tricky start as we lost our directions to Villa Susana we arrived about 4.30pm. We first noticed how peaceful the place was and the views breath taking! The villa was everything we wished for spacious comfortable with a well stocked kitchen.Although it was quite chilly when we arrived the following morning was glorious and temperatures soared through the day.The pool had the sunshine the whole day and Fernando the pool guy paid a visit and cleaned out a few leaves that had blown in mid week. Although Villa Susana is situated in the mountains it is only a short drive to the coast with amazing beaches. We visited Sagres which is a surfers paradise ,Praia da Luz and Praia da Rocha .Silves is only approx 5 mls away and is a quaint cobbled village which has a castle remains and a church with ‘The Cafe Inglis’ a good place to stop for refreshments,There are a good selection of supermarkets there also. If you take a walk around the villa grounds and the lanes look out for the deer we spotted them twice.If you do choose to stay at Villa Susana i’m sure you wont be disappointed! We will definitely return, missing it already
